IN THE GARDEN
Featuring works by Olena Babak, Deliece Blanchard, Amy Brnger, Tracy Everly, and Tyler Swain, this exhibition focuses on the details of flowers, from their delicate petals to their intricate textures, as well as the birds that call our gardens home. This collection offers a quiet and thoughtful exploration of nature’s simple yet striking elements
In The Garden opened on May 26, 2025 and will run through June 27, 2025.
Gardens and flowers have often been the first choice for artists looking for a subject.
A garden close to the artist’s studio is not only convenient for daily material and ideas, but also has the advantage of changing through the seasons and over time. Sometimes a village or neighborhood becomes the focus for the artist, as in Deliece Blanchard’s paintings of her neighbor’s English garden and Queen’s Ann Lace along the road and in the fields.
In Olena Babak and Tyler Swain’s floral paintings, the flower’s features are magnified, often with the focus on capturing the intricate details of the blooms. Tracy Everly brings flowers inside and paints single flowers innocently standing in their vases.
To round out the show, Tyler Swain has included some of our favorite feathered friends from the garden—the boisterous Wren, the bright orange Baltimore Oriole, and the agile Barn Swallow.
