HOLLY HARRISON
Holly Harrison's work begins with words. Trained first as a poet, she brings a poet's instinct for layering and resonance to mixed-media paintings built from found papers, paint, photography and collage. Her Poetic Grid series assembles fragments of everyday life — old shopping lists, vintage comics, a child's early drawings — obscured beneath washes of color so that what remains is suggestion rather than statement. Birds, and starlings in particular, recur as a subject of genuine fascination. Based in Concord, Massachusetts, her work is held in private and corporate collections across the United States and Europe.
