DELIECE BLANCHARD
Deliece Blanchard paints from life, with some added improvisation. Musical elements like rhythmic marks and lyrical decorations often appear in her work. Her paintings have a calm aesthetic, thoughtful design, and an insightful use of color. A prize-winning member of the Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, and American Women Artists, she has been awarded fellowships from Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the Tyrone Guthrie Center in Ireland, and the Verrocchio Art Centre in Italy. Her work hangs in educational, health care, corporate, and private collections. Deliece has degrees in music and biology from the University of Virginia and lives in Winston-Salem, NC.
